Shrewsbury Homes prides itself on offering a range of contemporary housing options exclusively within Shropshire. Why? The county is a picturesque location with a thriving culture and fascinating history. It’s the perfect place for families to settle, and you can fully immerse yourselves into the local community.
With our new development, The Farrs, ready to be moved into by Christmas, we have rounded up some of the best winter events occurring in and around Shrewsbury.
Festivals for the family
The organisers of the popular Shrewsbury Food Festival have returned to bring Shropshire The Shrewsbury Winter Festival. With over 150 exhibitors attending the festival, you can be assured of artisan festive foods and locally crafted gifts. There’s even a grotto for children to explore. Located right in the heart of Shrewsbury in The Quarry Park, it’s an event not to be missed.
Likewise, The Shrewsbury Chocolate Festival, 18th to 19th November, is returning to St Mary’s Church this year. Offering ethical tasty treats for adults and children alike, it’s made for those with a sweet tooth.
Both festivals are taking place right at the start of the Christmas season. They are sure to be the perfect way to kick off your family’s festivities this year.
Meet the Community
Christmas Fairs are the perfect way to integrate your family into a new community. The small scale Chantilly Grey fair charity event in the quaint St Mary’s Church is a great option. Alternatively, the larger Victorian Christmas Fayre at the Parade Shopping Centre looks to be a lot of historical fun.
Stop by for roasted chestnuts and mulled wine, or simply a chat with the locals. For whichever reason you decide to attend, fairs make the perfect cosy winter evening.
National Trust Treasures
Shropshire is known for its rich history and striking countryside. The perfect combination of the two characteristics can be found in Attingham Park! This year, the park is host to a wide range of winter activities.
The landmark mansion is scheduled to be transformed into a 1940s abode for families to explore for the whole of December. Whilst visiting the site, why not take part in one of the deer feeding sessions? Or, let you creativity run wild and attend a wooden snowman craft workshop to create quirky decorations for your bespoke home.
These are just a few of the winter events taking place in Shropshire this season. The county really is bursting with events ideal for all members of the family. Are thinking of moving to Shropshire?
